Popis:

- This item represents a typical stained coloured church window or leadlight, also known as leaded windows made of “came”, the coloured fused glass.  Leadlights, leaded lights or leaded windows are decorative windows made of small sections of glass supported in lead cames.
- The technique used is “stained-glass”, where coloured “came” are fused together.
- The main material used is glass called “came” which is made of smaller pieces of glass to create huge sections of glass which will become leaded windows. This “came” is usually made of: lead, zinc, copper, brass or brass-capped lead.
- This technique finds its origin in Roman and Byzantine era, but it had a big presence by the late Middle Age across Europe.

In this video an example of stained-glass crafting is presented and the process of creating a small window with “came” is illustrated by fusing leads together.
