2019-06-28

The Erasmus + ARTCademy project has been presented today in the framework of the International Conference on Creative Economy, Cultural Development and Social Equity that is being held on 27-28 June at the Russian Museum in Malaga.
ARTCademy is a knowledge management project coordinated by the University of Malaga by Professor Ana María Castillo Clavero, which was approved in the call for strategic actions of the Erasmus + program and has a funding of more than 228 thousand euros. The project is being carried out by a consortium of 9 partners from 7 countries where universities, vocational training providers and entrepreneurship facilitators are integrated.
The ARTCademy project aims to protect traditional ancestral knowledge by creating a repository of traditional trades (CraftPedia) as well as strengthening these companies through the improvement of their business and commercial training (Biz-Training), all based on ICT.
The communication presented in this conference by Gema Lobillo, Eva María Sánchez Teba and María Vera Durán, members of the ARTCademy team at the University of Málaga, delves into the theoretical framework that has served as support for this project, by relating social interest and economic sector of the artisanal sector with ICT, keys for the survival, strengthening and resurgence of a sector that is not only a central part of the European cultural heritage, but also an engine of rural development, of struggle against the depopulation of the territories and a necessary factor for building a circular and sustainable economy. ARTCademy is presented as a real example of the European space as a creative, smart and sustainable territory.
