The Erasmus+ ARTCademy Project starts in Brussels with its kick-off meeting

The ARTCademy project kick-off meeting has been held in Brussels last November 19 th and 20 th , in the headquarters of Institut de Haute Formation aux Politiques Communautaires – IHF. To this international meeting 9 Partners from 7 Countries (Belgium, Cyprus, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Spain) have attended to Brussels to launch the ARTCademy project, which has been funded by Erasmus+ programme with a budget of 228.421 €.

ARTCademy project has two main objectives: ensuring and treasuring European craftmanship sector by preserving ancestral knowledge about possibly soon-to-disappear jobs, aligning project priorities with the current celebration of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage, as well as providing artisans and crafts entrepreneurs with the very business tools and skills to survive and strive in an increasingly competitive and global economy. The project activities include the production of online materials on starting-up and business management for craft entrepreneurs and microenterprises, offered in 7 languages -English, Spanish, Italian, Slovak, Greek, Romanian and Polish, the creation and development of CraftPedia, an innovative repository of multimedia resources on antique artisan techniques, and BizTraining, a face-to-face training courses to be developed in all the participating countries.

At the meeting, partners jumpstarted implementation defining the timeline and activities related to the structure of the project web-platform and the development of the repository of artisan Knowledge. Partners also established the administrative structure for smooth project management and reporting.
